Oh and we found a McDonalds! There is only one in the area. It was kind of expensive. And you had to pay separately for ketchup, which tasted like tomato paste. But we can now say we’ve had Italian McDonalds. Oh and they had shrimp on the menu, that was weird for me.
So we are doing really great. We’ve been able to get around the area without getting too lost. We even went out for dinner the other day without our friends help. I guess it helped that the owner of the resteraunt we went to lived in America for a few years and speaks fluent english, but we went out by ourselves and we found the place! Oh and we even went to a super market store. It’s about the closest thing to a walmart neighborhood market that we’ve seen. There was all sorts of food and household items like light bulbs and teddy bears.
So people that know I can’t cook would be proud. Harris and I made some amazing hamburger helper last night. It was so good Harris even had leftovers for lunch today. I was really proud of us.
So Harris brought home some news today when he got off work. He’s going TDY. He leaves April 13th for 3 weeks, he’ll be at Sheppard AFB, Texas for inspector school. We’ve only been here for a few weeks and already the Air force is sending him away. But it’s ok, he’ll only be gone for 3 weeks. It could be worse.
Well I think I ran out of things to say, I’ll leave you with some pictures. I don’t want you guys to forget what we look like so there are some that include us in them!
Ciao!

It looks great!
ReplyDeleteHey...The reason that Italians do not have closets is because their property tax is per room. A closet is considered a room over there. Love ya...Mom
ReplyDeleteThe place is looking good! :-D
ReplyDeleteSo is that a church with the tower in the fifth pic?
Hope you two are doing well!
yeah that's a church, they're reconstructing that outside of it right now... so we'll see how it looks when they're done. they got the whole place covered by metal rails, various levels of wooden walkways and tarp. it's kind of like utah... a church on every street corner... except the churches here were built in the 15th and 16th centuries lol
