HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hey Everyone! It's me Kara! Sorry it has been a very long time since we updated. 2009 was a crazy year! But it looks like things are going back to normal for us, at least for a few months.

Since we last updated Trigger has gotten SO BIG! He's now 6 1/2 months old and he loves chewing on every toy. I think we got lucky cuz even if his favorite toy is buried in a pile of socks, he'll dig out his toy and leave the socks alone, for the most part. He's also teething and his smile sure looks funny with some HUGE teeth and then his little baby teeth mixed in. He sure is momma's little boy and we all love Trigger. He loves going on walks on the path by our house and we've even had Italians stop and tell us how he's so beautiful! he's a little monster sometimes but he's our little monster.

December 1st we were able to meet Marcus's parents in Florence and spend a few hours with them as they were stopped in Florence as a part of their cruise. It was so nice to catch up with their family and spend some time with them. It only took us a few hours to find the train station where they were meeting us. But we found them and we were able to spend a few hours with them and see the statue of David and do a little souvenir shopping with them.

We also had the privilege of a visit from my brother Jordan. We were both so excited for it. His visit went amazing! We visited Venice and Lake Barcis and we spent a weekend on the other side of Italy. We drove to Pisa early in the morning and spent a few hours there then we spent the night at Camp Darby, the army base over by Pisa. The next morning we braved the snow and made it to Florence. The usual hour drive ended up being a little over 2 hours. Cars were stopped on the Autostrada so there were people getting out of their cars and taking pictures of the snow. It was entertaining and frustrating at the same time. Florence was VERY cold, but luckily it didn't snow while we were walking around. It did take a little while to find some of the places we wanted to go but we all had fun just hanging out in Italy.

In December we also celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary. It's crazy to think that just a year ago we were getting married in Utah, and now we are here in Italy. Time sure has flown by but I know that I'm super glad I've had Harris by my side through all of it.

Harris's 24th birthday was in December as well. It was the 18th when we drove to Pisa for the weekend. Harris kept telling me that the worst way to celebrate a birthday was driving to Pisa. It was a long drive and the weather wasn't that great. but he was a trooper and drove the whole way so I wouldn't have to. Even after everything I think he had a pretty good birthday. Not many people can say they went to Pisa for their birthday.

Well I think that's about it since we last updated. We are all moved in to our new place. It really feels like home here. I love it.

Love, Kara and Harris

I don't have time to put up pictures right now but I'll try to get some online when I get off work tonight!
