our new home :)

We signed the paperwork for our new place! we move in on the 23rd! We're staying on the list for gov't housing to keep our options open. when housing contacts us, they show us 2 available homes and if we don't like them, we can stay in the place we're at.

As much as we like this place we're moving into, living in gov't housing would be way nice. Most come with a garage and they're all in the same neighborhoods, so we can go to our neighbor and ask for sugar and not here a response like, "Che? Io non parlo l'inglese." either that or they just nod their head and smile.

We went on a tour today and saw the local area, we went to a bunch of cities, took a bunch of photo's, tasted some home grown honey. They had the jars seperated by which flower the bees harveted the honey from. we got a jar of one of the sweetest ones, it's supposed to be the relaxing kind... the kind of honey is called "Tiglio" (it's pronounced "Tee l'yo" the G is silent) it's way good on bread and peanut butter. Or on a spoon ;)

We walked the market in Porcia (the market travels to different cities on different days of the week.) We walked the square in Pordenone, where we tried some chocolate. One that I tried was spicy, it had like pepper in it, it was really weird. We walked through St. Mark's Cathedral, (built in the 14th century) it was way cool. I took a lot of pictures, you'll see I promise.

After that we took a train to Sacile, to get a feel on how the trains work in Italy. Then the bus met us again and we went back to Fontanafredda (the city where our new house is) and went to a restaurant called "Ristorante al Parco" it was awesome! they had salmon, really good rice and some awesome pasta. and for dessert we had Gelato (italian ice cream.) Overall today was awesome. And now I go back in to reality and start work on Monday...

Anyway... I think that's about enough for tonight, I leave you with pictures of the house we're moving into, and some pictures from today.
