Hello Everyone! Harris Here.
Here it is just a little before 4 AM Wed. March 11th here in Italy, and as usual... I can't sleep. I think it might have something to do with the fact that the bed feels like it's 2 box springs stacked on top of each other. It has a little give to it, but you feel every coil you lay on. We've been here almost a week and we're getting pretty tired of living out of a suit case. The mini kitchen is pretty sweet, complete with empty cabinets, a small (but quite functional) fridge and a 700 watt microwave.
We started our "Right Start" program this week. It's a week full of people walking into the room and briefing us on just about everything we need to know about Aviano. Kara has a spouse meeting today with all the new base spouses and I will be taking a test to get my Italian Driver's License and getting my Chem. Gear so I'll be ready for when Aviano get's attacked with chemical weapons... Not to scare anybody because it has NEVER happened... They issued the same stuff to me in Utah.

We looked at a house!! We went to housing and printed out the flier for it and fell in love with it. But someone else had an appointment before us to look at it. So we were a little nervous that we were going to stumble upon them in the middle of signing the contract when we got there. Lucky for us, they weren't, the other family had already left. It's a nice little duplex conveniently connected to the Landlord's house. It's a 2 story, 2 bedroom 1 bath. It's supposedly about 1200 sq ft. It's really cool, the floors are all either tile or really shiny marble. The stairs look really luxurious because it's kind of a dark sea green marble floor, really shiny. Like something you would see in a mansion. But the walls are still standard white.
Now I understand why Mom and Dad had a Tapestry hanging on the wall, with no carpeting, the whole house echoes. So we're going to be sure to buy a lot of rugs, wall hangings and curtains.

Well i think i have just about updated you all with everything. So for now i will leave you with pictures of our hotel and the surrounding mountain range.
